World Health Organisation defines it as: “A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations.”

Chiropractic treatment is a hands-on healing art emphasising structural corrections to alleviate dysfunction of the nervous system, joints and soft tissues. The literal translation is ‘treatment with the hands’. Chiropractic care is effective because it utilises the simple truth that in all systems, function is determined by structure. Structural correction is achieved through spinal and extremity adjustments, muscle work, rehabilitative exercises, postural and lifestyle modifications. By eliminating abnormalities and balancing the structure of the human body, healthy function is a result.
